Dr. Blake Jelley is a Full Professor of management in the Faculty of Business, University of Prince Edward Island. He also serves as a member of the Employment Standards Board for Prince Edward Island. Blake earned a Ph.D. in industrial-organizational psychology from Western University and is a former Chair of the Canadian Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (CSIOP). He was awarded the Joan Finegan Award for Outstanding Contributions to CSIOP and is a Fellow of the Center for Evidence-Based Management. Blake holds the professional designation of Chartered Professional in Human Resources, having earned the top score in Canada on the October 2012 National Knowledge Exam in Human Resources. His professional practice experience includes five years in applied research and consulting at the Ontario Police College where he completed training design, test development, and human resource management projects.
Dr. Jelley’s scholarly work includes in excess of 100 publications and presentations, more than 20 of which appear in peer-reviewed journals. His work has appeared in prestigious outlets in applied psychology and management such as the Academy of Management Learning & Education, Human Resource Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Personnel Psychology. His interests include evidence-based management; management education; and the appraisal, prediction, and improvement of human performance.
