Carlo Lavoie is associate professor of French as a second language, Acadian and Québécois culture and literature at the University of Prince Edward Island. He is also Chair of the Department of Modern Languages and Coordinator of the Program in Acadian Studies. He is interested in the historical, geographic, structural and memorial identity links which bind the individual to his or her community in developing new possibilities for inhabiting any given territory. His research and publications go beyond literary analysis, extending to interdisciplinary studies.
