Dr. Justin Johnson Kakeu is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) in Canada. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Montreal (Canada), a Masters in Statistics and Economics, and a Masters in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics. Before joining the University of Prince Edward Island, he taught at Georgia Institute of Technology and Morehouse College in USA.
His research interests include Energy and Environmental Economics, Dynamic Macroeconomics, Sustainable Finance and Investing, Uncertainty in Resource and Climate Change Policies.
He has published papers in Energy Economics, the B.E. Journal of Macroeconomics, Environmental and Resource Economics, The Journal of Sustainable Finance & Investment, Dynamic Games and Applications, the Handbook of Energy Finance, Theoretical Economics Letters, etc.
From a technical point of view, his research works use a variety of economic and econometric techniques, including dynamic programming, deterministic and stochastic control, dynamic structural econometric models, reduced-form econometrics, differential games, Bayesian Games, and dynamic factor analysis. He enjoys working on projects that are technically sound, innovative, challenging, and that are of interest to academics, business practitioners and policy-makers. While using cutting-edge techniques, he also provides policy-making recommendations through user-friendly written economic analysis outputs for a broader audience.
