Dr. John Doran, Mi'kmaq from Sipkne'katik. Survivor of the Sixties Scoop. Currently professor at UPEI. His interests are recovering our traditional pre-contact agriculture, Indigenous literature and giving voice to the Sacred space for Two-Spirited People and for Sixties Scoop Survivors. Dr. Doran has been teaching for over 30 years in various capacities including Amish and Mennonite one-room schoolhouses, ESL, supply teaching, bridging programmes, community colleges, adult education, teacher candidate programmes and graduate school.
