Trichomoniasis was diagnosed in multiple incidents of mortality in wild purple finch (Carpodacus purpureus) and American goldfinch (Carduelis trims) in the Canadian Maritimes Birds exhibited regurgitation, emaciation, and hyperplastic otopharyngins, ingluvitis, and esophagitis Trichomonas gallinae was identified by histopathology and polymerise chain reaction (PCR). Trichomoniasis (trichomonosis) is an emerging disease in wild finches of eastern Canada.
