Biography
PhD, English Literature, Birkbeck College, University of London (1978); MA, Dalhousie University (1974); BA, University of Prince Edward Island (1973).
Dr. Elizabeth Epperly taught English at UPEI from 1992 to 2006, and was UPEI's fourth, and first female president; Dr. Epperly served as president from 1995–98. Epperly was also the first student to register at the newly created University of Prince Edward Island in 1969. Originally from the United States, Epperly moved to Canada because of her love of the writing of PEI’s own Lucy Maud Montgomery. In June of 2012, Dr. Epperly was honoured through a plaza dedication, located outside of the South entrance of the Robertson Library.
